MSE2026 Abstract deadline approaching fast

29 September–1 October 2026

MSE Congress 2026 is a major international materials-science congress with a strong emphasis on modelling and digitalisation. The congress brings together researchers from academia and industry to showcase cutting-edge developments that are shaping the future of materials research.

Gerhard Goldbeck is co-organising and co-hosting two symposia at this year’s meeting, which will take place 29 September–1 October 2026 in Darmstadt, Germany.

Importantly, for those wanting to present their work at the congress, the deadline to submit abstracts is soon. Submit yours by 31 January 2026 to be considered.

The two symposia that Gerhard is directly involved in are:

Symposium D03: Digital Materials: Experiments, Simulation Workflows, Ontologies, and Interoperability

This symposium will bring together experts to discuss how interoperable data models, ontologies, and FAIR digital workflows can enable data-driven materials science, advanced modelling, and global collaboration.

The session will focus on recent technical and scientific challenges involved in developing an interoperable representation of materials and processes. These include recent developments of ontologies, materials data schemas and software solutions that allow representation and integration of workflows, processes, and materials in a digitalised manner. The session will also highlight developments towards a European Materials Data Space and similar national initiatives.

Symposium D10: 5th International Symposium on Materials R&D Data

This symposium is a key highlight of this year’s meeting. It aims to facilitate global collaboration in materials research data and will feature invited speakers from Korea, Japan, and China to offer an international perspective on data-driven materials science.

The deadline to submit abstracts is fast approaching.
